The Broken Cage

As she listens to the symphony of her breath,

She wonders, if now she understands its depth

In the distant whispers of the past

She understood each cue.

Each balance. Each contrast.

Music flowed from her heart to soul.

A symphony woven, seamless and whole.

Passage of time shifted life‘s melody.

Unseen movement, unseen strings.

Dissonant chords played loud in asynchrony

Fatigued hands crippled in pain,

Gasped through the storm, lost in refrain.

Weary and spent, life’s pulse grew weak

A melody lost, a tune so bleak.

Through aching notes and silenced cries

She heard her inner child.

Fear not! Despair not!

A whispered promise, shining bright.

A dawn too swift edges near,

Its footstep whisper, soft yet so clear.

The cage will break, the chains will fall

And the freedom's voice will rise to enthrall.

A whispered dream, now set to soar.

A caged soul held back no more.
